From Morehead City, NC to Cape Coral, FL It is about 900 miles around... and you should make it in 5 days with no problem. If you can clear a bridge height of 49 feet, you can take the Lake Okeechobee route, you will cut some miles off your trip (maybe even a day) by cutting across the 152 miles from the Atlantic ICW at St. Lucie, to the Gulf at Ft. Myers. Happy & Safe Boating, John |

Depends on the season. A Hunter 34 has a PHRF of 138 or so, that is a pretty fast boat. What I suggest is that you get a chart, plot the course, then figure the miles and do some math with variables for the season and other stops. With the hurricanes like they are now, I would not do it. But it could be done in a week or two. With a crew it can be done much faster. or slower, depends on your sailing style. |

Experience? Crew? Weather? Condition of boat? Other than that 4 - 44 days. |

This depends on what route you take. If you have the currents working with you pushing you along; it could take as short as three-four days. With the currents working against you--it could take as much as two weeks. If we calculate that you are using the Intercoastal and using a motor---the time would be about 3 miles per hour divided in to approximately 700 miles which would give you 250 hours or roughly 10 days. The speed of a boat is most often determined by the lenght over all (loa) of the boat The max speed of a 34' boat is approximately 3 miles an hour or as much as 3 nautical miles an hour (= somewhere around 5 mph) |
