Yamaha 115 two stroke diameter prop?
what diameter prop should i use for my yamaha 115 two stoke. and what would the diameter change as far a performance
I have a chip on 2 of the blades on my prop, do I get a new one?
I have a small chip , no more than a 1 cm or so... there is 1 chip on 2 blades.. it is on a new 3.5 mariner outboard, with the plastic prop..is it worth having replacement?Im taking it for its 1st service soon, so they may pick up on it...?any idea of cost of prop?Thanks

I am looking to find out if anyone knows what I may have damaged. It use to max at about 5k rpm. Today, it was going to about 6500 rpm but the boat is not going any faster. Does anyone know if there is a shear pin gear behind the prop that might be causing this. THe boat starts and runs with no issues, just running higher rpm's
What size prop should I use for my boat?
I've got an 18' bay liner with a 120 hp outboard engine. I usually use it to travel down steam to fish and also to wake board. Right now it has a 12.75 diameter with a 21 pitch prop on it with 3 blades. It has plenty of power getting it up to plane and will go about 45 mph. The downsize is that my gas mileage is absolutely horrible. I'm using about 3x the amount of gas of everyone else. My prop recently got damaged and I'd like to get one that will increase my efficiency on gas while remaining useful for what I do. What would you recommend? I could probably get a slightly larger diameter prop as well. Thanks

Last night while out on my boat the engine was started again after going down the river a mile or so. but we was not going anywhere working fine till this point , I checked for any rubbish on the blades prop and found that the prop was spinning freely, as apposed to normally it is tight to turn. the prop was not lose and attached like normal the pins where in, when the motor is started it spins but at such a low rpm it wont push a paper boat, when reved up a little it creates a bit more smoke more than i would like so i turned it off completely, the fuel mixture is correct. after switching everything off and checking with no clue every part i could see to make sure there where no obvious faults the prop was tight again I put it in the water and got it home.. while carrying the engine back home the prop was stiff as usual and was being normal. however when i arrived back it was lose and free spinning once again..i did not knock it or anything and was carried in the upright position. Im certainly not an expert but have no idea why this is occurring?
