90 hp johnson outboard 1964 is leaking black oil from where the water goes in by the propeller.?
It has been sitting for 5 years and i never winterized it.
1998 225hp efi mercury outboard bogs down when under load at approx 2500rpm, no problems when in neutral?

I am looking to find out if anyone knows what I may have damaged. It use to max at about 5k rpm. Today, it was going to about 6500 rpm but the boat is not going any faster. Does anyone know if there is a shear pin gear behind the prop that might be causing this. THe boat starts and runs with no issues, just running higher rpm's

i have a 1985 85 hp force my options are 15 17 19 pitch props. i usually need power speed for skiers and i was just wondering what the best prop is.i have a 1985 16ft bayliner capri with a 17 pitch prop i think not sure. with that i get on plane in 4 seconds and top out at 35, decent accel so since its in the middle between accel and spee di thinks its the 17

What Trim Pin Should I set on my manual trim outboard? Slow to plane and won't plane with more than 2 people.?
It's a 50 HP Johnson on a 14 foot tri hull. With more than 2 people it won't plane, engine runs great. I had it set on the 2nd pin closest to the transom. That was exactly even with the bottom of the boat and level. Should I trim out a bit so the prop is higher towards the air?
