Confusion about boats-inboard or outboard?
Hi, I'm looking to buy my first little boat, just for a bit of fishing for 4 people. Been looking on ebay and they say inboard or outboard. I dont know the difference can anyone give any tips and advise please Thanks in advance.
Why does my marine inboard engine cut out under load only?
I sprayed a chemical around the intake manifold while running. As I did the engine changed rpm. So I know there is a air leak. Also the engine is a little hard to start at first. After playing with the distributor the engine starts. After that the engine starts and idles great. You can run and rev the engine up great for as long as you want. Only after the engine is put under a load does it pop really loud, ping a little, back fire and die. This is my first boat so I am new to this. Thanks.

I had taken my 2004 24 ft chaperral 236 out of the water and started closing everything up. At this point I took my drain plug out. I went to the truck and noticed I wasn't all the way up on the trailer. So, I backed the boat back into the water withOut the drain plug I know . Needless to say I backed it up the rolled the boat on up the trailer and pulled it out the lake. The process took about 1 to 1.5 min. I saw a semilarge amount of water run out for about 30 seconds. I went to investagate and it looked lime it only made it up to the bottom of the engine which looks to be the oil pan. No water was seen near bilge pump or batteries. The alternator was not affected and looks as if the water couldnot have gone past the bottom half of the engine block. What should I do to check and see if I messed anything up. I need some expertise here. Please help.

NO reverse in my mericruiser inboard.?
I recently bought a used lower end for my boat i installed it with no problems everything slid right in but no reverse now foward works great but when shifted to reverse its like its goes back to neatural. I have had the cable adjusted and checked out and are fine, is there anything i could have done when installing that would cause this. i made sure it was in foward the only way it will line up. any suggestions????
What can prevent an inboard motor from turning over.?
I have a motor boat that has a chevy 350 engine. It's been sitting for several months so I replaced the old battery it tries to turn over but doesn't start. The boat was out of the water with quite a bit of water in the bilge for awhile
