My husband was trying to start our boat it was sitting for awhile and the terminals started glowing why?
He kept turning it over and it started to slowly started to start kinda like the battery was almost dead then the terminals started glowing or could it have been the battery terminals arcing making it very bright? Could it be because the battery was almost dead? it has been sitting for awhile. Thanks in advance He believes it was a bad connection as well because it was a new battery. Nothing else heated up.

How to launch your boat and car. One funny ass story?
A guy my dad works with has a sailboat at the yacht harbor in Santa Cruz California. He invited our family to go sailing with him. Only my father and I went, so it was just the three of us. It was great, and a lot of fun, cold, but fun. So we get back in and I head to to little store for a snack. I buy a Coke and some chips and walk out. There's a pier right next to the boat ramp with tables and benches. I grab a seat right above the launch ramp. I watched a few boats come and go, then comes this husband and wife comedy team. He pull his boat up to the dock and his wife jumps off to go get the car and trailer. Okay you can't make this stuff up. First off she has no experience backing up a trailer and he's yelling instructions to her. it gets better She can't hear him well, so she rolls down all the windows. Finely she gets the trailer lined up in the water and her husband yells, " Now hand me the wench line" . She gets out of the car leaving it in reverse with no brake on or nothing. The car proceeds to back it's self all the way into the water.Now about two thirds of the car are floating in the water,the front tires are still on the ramp. The argument ensues, the yelling becomes desperate. Some other boaters instantly came to help. Still attached to the trailer the back of the car begains to sink. When the water reached the rear open windows, it was only seconds before the whole thing sunk. One boater grabed the guys ropes and the man dove jumped into the water and starts up the ramp. Now I can't type the language that thay were useing, but use your imagiation. Dude gets in the car, throws it in drive and floors it.Huge bubbles start comming from the exaust pipe and nothing is really happing. Now this guys sitting in his car with the water about up to his chest fighting to save his car.It was just starting to come out, but the wheel were just spinning. I'm trying not to laugh as tourants of water are whirling into the air. He yells " I need more weight, honey get in the car. She's like " No way" ," we gotta do something or we're going to loose everything" I'm thinking, the boats fine, still holding it in. " DO SOMETHING" , so she climbs on to the roof of the car and it helped a little,but the wheels were still spinning, Once again the man yells," We need more weight" I'm well over 300 pounds and thought to myself, could being fat ever be an advantage ? So I jam down the stairs and climbed up on to the roof too. It worked. He was able to pull the car and trailer out of the water and up to the top of the ramp. Water is pouring out of eveywhere, the whole inside is messed up and the argument and yelling resumes. I was like, " Okay you good now, I gotta go" and split. I ducked around a building and just lost it. This memory will stay with me for the rest of my life and I had to share it with someone. YOU. Thanks
1981 ranger bass boat kill switch problems? i need help!!?
I have a 1981 Ranger bass boat with a 175hp outboard mercury motor. I think there is sonmthing wrong with my killswitch because when i start it up theres no spark getting to my engine and it sounds like the killswitch is stuck on. Does anyone have any advice or a link to a website where i can troubleshoot it? any help would be appreciated thanks I have a tournament this saturday and am going to prefish so i would like to get this done asap. thaks again
