Plug the plugs and put the motor in neutal. Turn the motor over by hand turning the flywheel in a clockwise direction. If you can not turn it over by hand the motor is froze up. Now if it turns over with your attempt you have an electrical problem either battery or connection to the motor which can either be on the pos or neg side. After that is corrected you can see if the motor will start.

Follow these steps, you'll get it fixed: 1. make sure the throttle/ shift control is in neutral. jiggle the handle, maybe the neutral safety switch is stuck. 2. check the 20-amp fuse in the inline fuse holder on the red wire on the powerhead, between the big red main wiring harness plug and starter solenoid. 3. measure the battery voltage, a fully charged battery measures at least 12.65 volts. A fully discharged battery is 11.89 volts. 4. disconnect, clean and reconnect all the cables, battery to solenoid to starter. By "clean " I mean make 'em shine (hint: sandpaper). 5. using a known-good, fully charged battery, measure the voltage at the solenoid small input terminal with the key turned over to "start ". if you get 12v (+ / - half a volt), and the solenoid doesn't "click ", replace the solenoid. If you got low voltage there, you have a wiring fault in the wiring harness, neutral safety switch (inside the control box) or keyswitch.
