Question: What is best horsepower for flat bottom boat used for river fishing?

I recently purchased a used flat bottom boat with a troling motor for lake fishing. I want to buy an outboard motor so it can be used occasionally in a river with currents arround 10 mph. What would be a good choice?

What length boat we talkin bout? and how wide? I wouldn't put less than 75% of max recommended HP on it.

Check the max HP rating and try to get as close to that as you can. Not sure of your river, But where I'm from Jet drives are preferred.
