I want a boat house! How do I get one?
Me and my classmate from karate were having a funny discussion about trailers and boat houses a few hours ago. I'm just curious about the process. Expenses, licenses, weather conditions, boat house neighboorhoods lol . Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

If my boat is in my boat house and sits in the water, do I need to winterize it? If so, after fogging the engine and pulling the drain plug and replacing it, how much antifreeze do I need to use if any at all?

Boat House Battery solution required?
Hi, I have a twin engined 32ft cruiser which I stay overnight on regularly. Problem is the House Battery does not seem to cut it. By morning it's already pretty flat just running a fridge and freshwater supply and the occasional use of the Inverter. The house battery is an N150 Truck and Tractor battery. I don't have a genset and don't want to install one due to weight, mtce and ongoing cost.I was told that the current battery is not suitable as it should be a deep cycle battery with a special regulator on the alternator for charging. So my choices are to get to new deep cycle batteries and a new charger, but will the deep cycle batteries be suitable for cranking the second engine which is connected to the house supply or will I need to consider rewiring to the main starting battery?Wind turbine and solar charging are not suitable for this vessel.Open to any suggestions.Thanks SteveThank you all for your great information. I'll start by purchasing 2 x 100amp deep cycle batteries 12V , and keep the N150 purely for starting. I actually keep the boat on a swing mooring and don't have access to AC for charging, so I rely on 100ma solar panel for trickle charging in between taking the boat out.I actually have 2 x 85amp altenators, one on each engine. I will leave one purely for the N150 and the other for the House batteries.Thanks again. Steve
What is a BOat House/ House Boat?
what is a house boat? i assume it is a home on top of water. what can someone tell me about them? are they good to live in? and are they a good option for a single person who cannot afford the price of an expensive house. TY.
