I have recently purchased a 88 wellcraft antigua. The drain port for the bilge pump takes in water unlike the other drain ports that have the check valve is this normal or is it suppose to have a check valve as well

Jessica, No, I am afraid this is not normal. None of your thru-hull outlets should take on water... I have never owned a boat that had a check valve on the bilge pump outlet. The outlet should be well above the waterline of your boat, and on the inside, you should have an "L " shaped or "elbow " connection that goes up another 6 inches higher so that waves do not splash any water that finds itself inside your bilge... Happy & Safe Boating, John

Didnt have a mechanical inspection performed or water test it before purchase did you? expect to find many more problems.....
